[edit]I've rearranged the list so that artists who were called minimalist when the term was first used at the end of the 50s are separate from other artists who are minimalist in a more general sense. The problem is that the term is used in both a specific and a general way - specifically it refers to these artsits like Judd and Andre who worked in a particular style at a particular time; generally it refers to anything which lacks superfluous ornamentation or decoration (later, I'm going to add some stuff to minimalism to try and explain this a bit more). It's useful to distinguish between those two uses, I think. --Camembert
