Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia.
Your resveratrol article prompts me to offer this tip: on Wikipedia, one normally begins with a complete sentence rather than a dictionary-style definition, and highlights the title word or title phrase at its first appearance, like this. (See my editing of resveratrol.) Michael Hardy 03:31, 17 Oct 2003 (UTC
Thanks, I can use all the advice I can get at the point. I just started doing this yesterday and I only spent a short amount of time on the resvertrol page. I do have the exact name of the grapes someplace. Kstailey 22:34, 17 Oct 2003 (UTC)
(moved from Talk:Antiretroviral drug) fixed, thanks for proofing. BTW this site really throws me since I forget to check if I'm logged in or not. Most sites don't let you do anything until you log in so you notice fast. Heh, I remember finding the TCP/IP to chaosnet bridge at MIT while randoming about and connected to AI.AI.MIT.EDU without knowing anything about it. The fact that I could run commands on it without logging in was a first for me since I had only UNIX and VMS exposure. This is like a throwback to that experience. Only years later did I learn about ITS and it was on KLH10 by then. kstailey
- Yeah, it's easy to forget. You could always set your preferred stylesheet to a non-default one (Cologne Blue is nice). Pretty soon you'll find the standard wikipedia looks odd, reminding you you're not logged in. -- Finlay McWalter 16:00, 17 Oct 2003 (UTC)
- Thanks for the idea of using an alternate skin. I'm not so sure about Cologne Blue since I was taught that san-serif typeface is better for headlines and serif typeface for blocks of text since the serifs are there to guide your eye and Cologne Blue uses the reverse of that. - One neat wikitip - if you put four ~ characters after a talk comment, it is automatically expanded to your name, pagelink, and time. Oh, and I wanted to commend you on the improvements you've done to Antiretroviral drug - it's a lot more interesting and useful now. -- Finlay McWalter 16:09, 17 Oct 2003 (UTC)
- Thanks again, I like this tip a lot! Kstailey
Hi. I notice you've not made any edits for a couple of weeks now. Please don't get discouraged - the stuff you've done already is excellent, and I'm looking forward to reading more. I do hope you're okay. -- Finlay McWalter 13:28, 2 Nov 2003 (UTC)
I'm OK, just very busy with work. I was thinking about a "watchdog" entry since there is a paucity of information in FOLDOC etc. about watchdog timers and alarms. Kstailey 19:08, 4 Nov 2003 (UTC)

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
