Fred, was JC really a politician? I knew he was in government before the Revolution, but thought it was solely in Crown-appointed positions. He wrote very little and (as far as I know) never ran for any office in his life. I could easily be wrong, though. Do you have a source for him being in politics? --Mac 16:34, 2005 Apr 29 (UTC)
- I have no other sources than you. The only reason why I called him a politician was that he was in the Virginian Council. --Fred chessplayer (talk) (edits) 17:14, 29 Apr 2005 (UTC)
Heh. Well, if you're citing me, then I guess I'll say he wasn't a politician. I know...it's a fine hair to split, but in some of my further research I've been doing on the guy, one of the remarkable things I'm finding is how little he seemed interested in swaying public opinion. It's an unusual trait for someone whose own public life was so...opinionated.
I've enjoyed your work on the Swedenborg and Swedenborgian pages, by the way. Mac

Unless he has an article, he shouldn't really be listed here. Boleyn (talk) 05:16, 6 October 2009 (UTC)
