[edit]I composed this entry from material available on the internet and in such publications as Ernest K. Gann's memoir, Fate Is the Hunter, as well as the various U.S. Army volumes on the history of WWII.
Date Narsarsuaq Air Base was opened
[edit]The Air Base construction was started in 1937, that included bringing food stores such as "cold storage eggs" to the storage caves in 1937. I was a Rawinsonde Operator/Surface Weather Observer in 1953-1954 in the 8th Weather Squadron. I personally saw them open egg crates packed in 1937.

Hospital during Korea War
[edit]Narsarsuaq was reused during the Korea War. A large hospital was built a short distance up the valley, and injured soldiers flown from Korea across the US to Nasarsuaq. 195.249.232.63 (talk) 16:05, 29 December 2022 (UTC)
