Thomas Knoll was born and riased in Stephenville, Texas under the care and supervision of Ed and Cathy Knoll. He generally claims to be the older brother of Dwight Knoll.

When he wasn't busy becoming an Eagle Scout or preparing to reform the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod, he was just haning out with anyone and everyone he could meet. He served as Vice president and President of the Texas Future Teachers of America, spent as much time as possible at Texoma Lutheran Camp, and enjoying being involved in Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

In 1998 he headed to Concordia University in St. Paul, Minnesota, where he fell in love with his now wife, Kimberly (Young) Knoll. He went to Concordia to study outdoor ministry, discovered it wasn't for him and shifted his focus to Youth Ministry, then to Outreach, and finally realized that none of these things were for him. In fact, college in genneral didn't really fit with his philosophy of learning.

While his wife completed her college education, he worked in youth ministry at St. Andrews Lutheran Church in Mahtomedi, Minnesota, then Bethel and Emmaus Lutheran Churches in Saint Paul, Minnesota, and Woodbury Lutheran Church in Woodbury, Minnesota.

Currently he is exploring new ways of "being church" and has a strong interest in Philosophy, Mysticism, and the Church Fathers.
