Talk:Ithaca (Homer)
Is it just me, or is this article bizarrely named at Ithaca (Homer)? The disamb page at Ithaca makes links Ithaca Island as the island in the Ionian sea and Ithaca (Homer) as Odysseus's home, while this article seems to cover both as a single topic. Meanwhile Ionian Sea links the spelling Ithaka. How should these be named and organized? --Brion 03:50 Dec 5, 2002 (UTC)
Hm. Just because there are some non-famous places in the US that are named Ithaca doesn't seen to warrent placing the famous island at a disambiguated title. I would have one article about the island. In that article, at Ithaca I would explain the ancient, mythical and legendary aspects along with modern information. At the top of that article I would have a disambiguation block that has a link to a separate disambiguation page with the current content of Ithaca. --mav
- I agree with Maveric. Why not just have a single Ithaka or Ithaca, however we want to spell it? The US city is Ithaca, New York, anyway. -- Zoe
Done. Ithaca is now about the Greek island, Ithaka and Ithaca (Homer) redirect to it, and Ithaca (disambiguation) has the list of other Ithacas. -- Stephen Gilbert 03:58 Dec 10, 2002 (UTC)
- Coolness. thanx! --mav
