This page was listed for deletion by an anonymous user, and I though I'd jump into the fray. I must confess that I think this page is junk (it's just one big ad), but I don't think it should be deleted. I think it should be entirely rewritten, I confess, but I do think that 'houseboat' is a valid topic for an article. Any thoughts as to where I should go with this? -Litefantastic 14:48, 1 Oct 2004 (UTC)
- Sorry, that anonymous user was me not logged in. I mistakenly listed the article on VFD as Wikipedia:Votes for deletion/Houseboats instead of Wikipedia:Votes for deletion/Houseboat. The page is not only an advert, it might also be a copyvio [1]. Exabyte (talk) 14:54, Oct 1, 2004 (UTC)
- Erm, so re-write it. We definately need an article on houseboat. The Recycling Troll 15:18, 1 Oct 2004 (UTC)
- Keep I have rewritten it as a stub, and I will be the first to admit that it is not even a good stub. It is only just better than what was there before. If I knew anything at all about houseboats I would have made it longer! --Jll 15:59, 1 Oct 2004 (UTC)
- Keep stub. Darksun 16:43, 1 Oct 2004 (UTC)
- Keep the stub. Houseboat has several articles already linked to it. Dsmdgold 16:59, 1 Oct 2004 (UTC)

- Keep present stub. [[User:Dpbsmith|Dpbsmith (talk)]] 01:17, 2 Oct 2004 (UTC)
- Keep. Might be stubby, but is indeed a valid topic. [[User:MacGyverMagic|Mgm|(talk)]] 21:36, Oct 2, 2004 (UTC)
- Keep It's a stub and covers a valid topic... --Asmodai 15:37, Oct 3, 2004 (UTC)
- Keep. The original advert version, promoting houseboating on Lake Powell, was probably by the anon who inserts similar POV into the Lake Powell article ("After just one visit, you'll see why people keep coming back year after year."). Despite its unsavory provenance, however, Jll has cleaned it up suitably. JamesMLane 17:33, 3 Oct 2004 (UTC)
- Keep. As it now stands, it's a springboard for useful encylopaedic article. — Bill 23:10, 5 Oct 2004 (UTC)

New Question about Houseboating I am looking to write a pretty extensive article on houseboating and it has been proposed to be merged with Houseboat. I'd like to figure out which way is better before I write a whole lot. My thought is that houseboating is different from a houseboat just as camping is different from an RV. Any thoughts (my first article)? Thanks! (Cyberwiglet 05:21, 13 June 2006 (UTC))[reply]
