Ladislas is in Hungarian

That may be, but it is also the spelling I've seen most often in English... :-( JHK

Either way is fine with me . I have seen it mostly as Wladislaw , but that is all recently.

Could be -- I'm just trying to verify... I think that the W's make it more phonetic in Polish -- and substituting for English V's would look funny JHK

After Jagiellons died out, all kings were elected.. that;'s true, but Jagiellons were also elected, although election was in their case formality. szopen
