Could this have something to do with Grindelwald the dark wizard Dumbledore defeated, WW2 ended in 1945 that is when Grindelwald was defeated, Could he have been behind WW2 he could have been controlling The Germans. This would help him to take over like Voldemort is trying to do. The folklore says it is german folklore, could Voldemort be trying to do what Grindelwald failed to do, The muggles could be used as a weapon in world domination for a dark wizard.
