From Cleanup: Ultimasurf - selfpromotion? POV? FZ (moved from Cleanup by SimonP)
- Definitely promotional. At least they're trying to distinguish themselves from all the other meta-search engines by listing specific features, but I'm sure that was done to lure people to site rather than to make the article encyclopedic. Delete this worthless ad, which was undoubtedly added by an anonymous user — checking — yup. These things always are. --Ardonik 03:44, Jul 20, 2004 (UTC)
- Delete. The external link at Metasearch_engine is enough. Ianb 06:25, 20 Jul 2004 (UTC)
Keep. This one really does stand out from other metasearch engines. (Bias notice: I'm the one who came across this while patrolling New Pages and stubified it.) The listing of specific features was done by me, specifically because those features make this one notable, not by someone trying to lure people. I haven't checked Alexa traffic for this site, so it might fail notability on that factor, but on its own merits this one offers much more search power than Google. SWAdair | Talk 07:48, 20 Jul 2004 (UTC)- Ugh. Egg on my face. I had only looked at the pretty packaging but hadn't acutally played with the toy. The toy is broken. I think Ianb is right -- the external link at Metasearch_engine is plenty. Delete. SWAdair | Talk 03:37, 21 Jul 2004 (UTC)
- Delete. Have you tried using the search engine? I did a search for "Steve Jobs" and got five whole hits. I tried using it to search Wikipedia and it choked. Ocon | Talk 17:05, 20 Jul 2004 (UTC)
- still not impressed. It's sorta useful but while I was playing about with it the 90's rang - they want their webdesign back. (This site is best viewed with screen resolution 1024*768 and Text Size = Medium. Your resolution is 1280*1024. If the webpage is displayed incorrectly, please change the resolution or text size.). This is an interface to google with another interface which pushes your search to any number of search engines with a little bit of Javascript - hey, I can do that too. There's a place for sites like this: http://www.dmoz.org . Ianb
- Delete bad ad for worse search engine. -- Cyrius|✎ 04:38, 23 Jul 2004 (UTC)
