Only people of substantial notability should be added in the Births and Deaths section of Day of Year articles; otherwise there would be hundreds of people in those sections of each such article. Qzm (talk) 01:21, 26 September 2009 (UTC)

Robert the Bruce

Date with highest birthday count on Wikipedia

I did a bit of analysis and March 27th stands out as the date of the year with the highest number of "famous" birthdays with 786 at time of analysis. The next highest was March 4th with 667 followed by February 5th with 559. The average count per date was 267 birthday listings. Removal of birth entries

I've had removed some insufficiently globally notable celebrities with few or no articles in other Wikipedias, but not a lot Shiesmine (talk) 15:16, 16 December 2016 (UTC)

Sports Bias Among Birth Entries

Since 1976 on this page, only 2 --TWO-- out of 40 --FORTY-- birth entries has not been a sports person! This manifests an unacceptable and some would say an unintellectual bias, which does nothing to uphold the standards of Wikipedia. I have therefore re-entered Amira Willighagen, a young international operatic soprano of world renown, who won the Holland's Got Talent national finals at the age of 9 and performs around the world at the highest level, with tenors such as Paul Potts, who ARE included on their birth pages.

Will the sports fanatic, whoever he is, please try to entertain the concept of *balanced reporting* ! TWO...out of FORTY! Must do better!

Could I also raise the point that there are some people with their own Wikipedia pages who have their births/deaths entered, and some who don't. Any yet, they are all considered notable enough to have their own pages on Wikipedia. To some this would also appear as a double standard.

Global notability

I agree that not everyone on Wikipedia should be included, but there needs to be more straight forward guidelines that are set in stone. I've reverted some of the edits recently made on the page to remove non-notable people, but I disagree so I have unaccepted them. It would help if perhaps suggested people to be removed were discussed on the talk page first, and then proposed for removal? st170e^talk 02:46, 18 December 2016 (UTC)
