Maybe a quick mention in here? The finale song (Light at the end of the tunnel) mentions him a fair bit, due to him helping invent steam power (and in the story, the steam train has just beaten the electric train, diesel train etc.). - JaffaCakeLover 14:34, 08 November 2006 (GMT)

The parish register recorded:

James was born on the 19th and baptized on the 25th of February 1736 in Greenock.

Not done: it's not clear what changes you want to be made. Please mention the specific changes in a "change X to Y" format and provide a reliable source if appropriate. The article gives January 19th as the old style date. Also, it appears that source is not accessible. ScottishFinnishRadish (talk) 15:33, 21 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
So, I tried to access this page by registering at scotlandspeople.gov.uk but I get "Access denied: You are not authorized to access this page" because: "You don't have enough credits to access the record. You have 0 credits in your account and you need 6 credits to access the record." 30 credits costs £7.50. So I'll not proceed for now. But the article already says he was born on 19 January 1736 OS? I guess a date of baptism could be added. Martinevans123 (talk) 16:01, 21 December 2021 (UTC) p.s. David Matheson Brisbane you forgot to sign your request above.[reply]
And the date is already fully sourced to ODNB. Martinevans123 (talk) 18:58, 21 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Please change the photo you have used for the James watt college in Greenock that is not the James watt college it's the James watt statue the college isn't even called James watt college anymore. To put it simply you have a photo on here with the caption James watt memorial college and it's actually of a statue of James watt that's attached to the town municipal buildings. 2A00:23C6:7790:B901:2887:93E8:1369:3C1B (talk) 23:37, 19 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I am a descendent of his, he is my 5th great grandfather and I have his family tree, a lot of his descendents followed in his footsteps to become engineers. I would love to add more information about his family. Thank you Sophiechappel (talk) 12:55, 1 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Not done this is not the place to request additional user rights. It would be helpful if you provided sources and told us what exactly you want changed. 12:57, 1 October 2024 (UTC)
