Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Main Street Singers

Not to be confused with "The New Main Street Singers" from Best in Show, this is a high school choir. Seems more notable than most high school choirs, but a high school choir nonetheless. If someone wants to create and article for Los Altos High School, and if it can survive the VfD gauntlet that high schools have to run, then maybe merge and redirect there. Otherwise just delete. -R. fiend 19:49, 26 Nov 2004 (UTC)
- Of course the film was A Mighty Wind, not Best in Show (man, I gotta lay off the booze). Well, I was close. -R. fiend 04:08, 27 Nov 2004 (UTC)
- Delete - High school choirs don't live by the same (harsh) rules as performance groups. Sounds like they put on a great show, though! Wyss83.115.141.10 01:03, 27 Nov 2004 (UTC)
- Neutral - looks like they've toured more widely than most working bands. Can we maybe start a single article on notable U.S. high school musical groups, merge and redirect? For example, here in Seattle I know there are two jazz bands -- one at Garfield High and one at Roosevelt High -- that have also toured widely, won national awards, played in venues comparable to professional musicians, etc. I don't think they necessarily merit articles of their own, but I think they merit a mention. -- Jmabel | Talk 03:22, Nov 27, 2004 (UTC)
- Delete: High school choir (and "The Main Street Singers" became the New Main Street Singers in A Mighty Wind, so this is the same name). Believe it or not, there are many, many, many with this level of success (if you look very hard at the claims, they look weaker and weaker). Not notable. Geogre 03:35, 27 Nov 2004 (UTC)
