This failed WP:FAC once, and I think I've addressed the problems and want to put it up again. I'd like your input. Bits of the history are tricky to document in an NPOV manner, particularly the X.Org/XFree86/Packard stoush in 2003. The main outstanding requirement is how X extensions work, as a missing section of the 'technical details' - David Gerard 17:00, 28 Dec 2004 (UTC)
- I have yet to be able to create the diagram, but I'm still going to do it!!! - Ta bu shi da yu 06:24, 21 Jan 2005 (UTC)
- Your diagram actually looks fine :-) I don't think I could improve it that much! I think this should go to FAC. - Ta bu shi da yu 06:28, 24 Jan 2005 (UTC)
- The problems previously raised with the technical section (it's a bit crap) remain. It needs at least an explanation of how X extensions work - all the cool functionality is actually extensions.
- Also, the page is now at 30KB! What on earth can be usefully synopsised? - David Gerard 18:39, 25 Jan 2005 (UTC)
- I've dealt with the technical issues by spinning them off as a separate article ;-) I think what remains is ready to deal with WP:FAC. I'll nominate it in a couple of days - David Gerard 14:40, 26 Jan 2005 (UTC)
Nominated on FAC! Removing from WP:PR - David Gerard 01:21, 29 Jan 2005 (UTC)
