Hello. The talk about NJU has been moved here Talk:Nanjing University Dictioner 11:25, 8 May 2004 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Koyn:

I would like to say a few words about your following comment @ Vfd.

I have been puzzled and a bit saddened by this comment. Although every human being regardless of origins does have right to express hirself, we (yes I am using "we", because I am a bit Chinese) do care what other people think of China. We certainly don't want other people criticizing behind us and the Chinese (people) as a whole that we are rude, dirty, slit-eyed or like to kill our friends and comrades just for food (i.e. cannibalism). Tomchiukc @ Chinese wikipedia expressed his frustration while helping out anonymously at Korean wiki against a Chinese vandalbot. He was wrongly accused of either supporting or even participating in the vandalism just because he was an anonymous Chinese; he was banned at the end.

Nanshu was known from his previous contributions that, according to Menchi, "His intent is not just anti-Chinese. Nanshu is obssessed with insidiously or openly insulting the history and culture of any "ex-Japanese colonies". A former Canadian Wikipedian interested in Korea informed me on several occasions that Nanshu was anti-Korean and actually composed an entire website on that defamatory theme, e.g., Talk:Names of Korea#External website content. " Can we just let this kind of person fooling around just because of our "Why do we always care what other people think of China ?" mentality? It sounds quite "Ah Q". Here is another example at an online Romance of the Three Kingdoms game [1].

Or as Menchi said, "Don't take it personally. It's actually quite funny seeing how desperate this little sick colonialist is, isn't it? Yeah...a bit hilarious. I mean, c'mon, the Insane Japanese Occupation has been over for ages! That's so last century. Get over it! Gee....".

Anyhow I have expressed my point. Thanks for reading. Ktsquare (talk) 04:48, 26 May 2004 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks

[edit]

Hi. Thanks for the kind words about my photographs. I have actually visited China - back in 2000, I travelled from Beijing down to Hong Kong... My photographs of that trip aren't that great though - I just had a little point-and-click camera. Some of the photos are on my website here.

I had a great time in China, and would definitely like to go back one day... but there are still lots of other places in the world that I haven't been to, that I want to get to first! - MykReeve 22:20, 9 Jun 2004 (UTC)

Article Licensing

[edit]

Hi, I've started a drive to get users to multi-license all of their contributions that they've made to either (1) all U.S. state, county, and city articles or (2) all articles, using the Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike (CC-by-sa) v1.0 and v2.0 Licenses or into the public domain if they prefer. The CC-by-sa license is a true free documentation license that is similar to Wikipedia's license, the GFDL, but it allows other projects, such as WikiTravel, to use our articles. Since you are among the top 2000 Wikipedians by edits, I was wondering if you would be willing to multi-license all of your contributions or at minimum those on the geographic articles. Over 90% of people asked have agreed. For More Information:

To allow us to track those users who muli-license their contributions, many users copy and paste the "DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual" template into their user page, but there are other options at Template messages/User namespace. The following examples could also copied and pasted into your user page:

Option 1
I agree to multi-license all my contributions, with the exception of my user pages, as described below:
DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual

OR

Option 2
I agree to multi-license all my contributions to any U.S. state, county, or city article as described below:
DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual

Or if you wanted to place your work into the public domain, you could replace "DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual" with "MultiLicensePD". If you only prefer using the GFDL, I would like to know that too. Please let me know what you think at my talk page. It's important to know either way so no one keeps asking. -- Ram-Man (comment| talk)

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
