Bands in the "Thunderbirds" Video
[edit]I'm more than prepared to accept that the bands in the "Thunderbirds Are Coming Out" video are real, local bands. However, there is no proof that I've seen in favour of such a statement. If anyone can put up some kind of proof - a URL which demonstrates such, for example - then we'll go from there. Without that proof, I'm going to rely on comments that were made about the video at the time it was released that the bands were parodies of popular groups of the day. BigHaz 03:41, 19 Dec 2004 (UTC)
Yes, they were real bands. 28 Days went on to some level of fame and apparently split up. I've read of a newspaper advertisement asking bands to be in the clip. One web page I saw had a list of all of them and links to most of their web sites, if they had one. I don't know where the page was or if it still exists, but I will attempt to find it again.

etc etc (googled the band names, but here is a more complete list <https://web.archive.org/web/20170208035157/http://timchuma.com/tismthunderbirdsvid.htm>
Just quietly I am pretty sure "Thunderbirds are Coming out" is taking a dig at passive conformity and "Parable..." something along the lines of real, earned, success versus personality, privilege and good fortune. Thunderbirds and Glenn McGrath are just symbolic.
Album Covers?
[edit]Wouldn't it be a handy idea to mention the different album covers for www.tism.wanker.com? Just a thought.
