Questions for the candidate
A few generic questions to provide guidance for voters:
- 1. What sysop chores, if any, would you anticipate helping with? (Please read the page about administrators and the administrators' reading list.)
- A. I would likely be a "no big deal" sysop, at least at the beginning. I occasionally appear in the Wikipedia: namespace, but spend most of my time on articles. My appearances there would probably increase to an extent, but I'd mostly be looking forward to that rollback button for fixing vandalism...
- 2. Of your articles or contributions to Wikipedia, are there any about which you are particularly pleased, and why?
- A. I believe that articles are always works-in-progress, but I've always thought that the Twin City Rapid Transit history was one of my better contributions (a companion article of sorts to Hiawatha Line, describing the reincarnation of rails in my city 50 years later). A combination of my interest in Minnesota, history, and technology. I have also helped document the history of notable broadcasters in my area (Minnesota Public Radio, WCCO, KSTP, etc.), and I have occasionally done some significant cleanup on the article for The Daily Show. Ralph Samuelson was recently on the Main Page as a Did you know? topic. Dunno if I'll ever manage that featured article, though ;-)
- 3. Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or do you feel other users have caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and will deal with it in the future?
- A. Only minor things, really. Occasional fluctuations in my memory have caused erroneous edits from time to time (I hate finding out that I'm wrong ;-) I often avoid controversial topics, but can handle them if I am able to ascertain facts from reliable references.
