von Fallersleben
[edit]think "von Fallersleben" means "from Fallersleben" was not part of his name, indicating nobility, only indicating his place of birth. --Spacey 21:00, 27 Apr 2004 (UTC)
- that´s correct, and Hoffmann is a very common name in germany, so he wanted to separate from other Hoffmanns Iwantedthedudebutitwasgone 02:47, 18 August 2006 (UTC)

This is mostly the 1911 Britannica article artfully arranged with links, categories and some supporting materials. In addition to Britannica, there is reference material in the Deutschlandlied article. The note on Helgoland seems out of place here, and also needs a citation. Some additional supporting material would be good, and more about his work. It would be interesting to trace the fate of his Helgoland memorial. EB1911 notes it was erected 1890 and then destroyed by 1911, and the Helgoland note here claims it was destroyed in WWII. Bob Burkhardt (talk) 17:50, 5 January 2009 (UTC) |
