Please add Hospital Insurance in the abbreviation list for "HI" . Hospital Insurance is Part A of Medicare coverage to individuals that are age 65 or over or who are eligible for Social Security or Railroad Retirement benefits. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Rians45 (talk • contribs) 19:14, 22 September 2012
- Sorry for the delayed response. I'm not finding any usage of HI standing for hospital insurance. A Google search for HI Medicare mostly gives info about high-income rather than hospital insurance. Oiyarbepsy (talk) 02:48, 28 April 2015 (UTC)
Entries removed
I've removed the following entries:
- Harper's Island, a CBS television show
- Hilal-i-Imtiaz, a Pakistani civilian decoration
- Holiday Inn, a brand of hotels
- Homeless International, a British non-governmental organization
- Human interface, a term in industrial design and computer science
I couldn't find evidence that these are actually abbreviated as HI. Provide a source, and I'm happy to put them back. Oiyarbepsy (talk) 03:24, 28 April 2015 (UTC)

template. --Redrose64 (talk) 16:40, 13 September 2016 (UTC)- Per WP:DABABBREV, we need evidence in secondary sources of an initialism's use for a term to demonstrate that it needs to be included on the disambiguation list. It looks to me like HI is used informally by the production itself, but not by third parties to such an extent that users would come to this page before they found the actual article. We need a real definition on hi,such as: hi, a form of greeting. Qwertyhimo (talk) 12:28, 4 October 2016 (UTC)
- Definitions are the purview of Wiktionary, and we have a link to wiktionary:hi at the top of the page. Per WP:DABDIC, disambiguation pages don't generally include dictionary definitions. One exception is when we've established a primary topic for that term. In such a case, the page hi would redirect to Hello, with a note there pointing to this disambiguation page. If you'd like to begin the process for developing consensus about adopting a primary meaning for this page, we can open a request for comments. What do you think?
