Non-Core Characters

[edit]

Earlier versions of this page had information about other (seen) characters, including Dominic, Lois, Yvonne, etc. Now the character list is split 'main characters' and 'unseen characters', this info has gone. Arguably some of the unseen characters are more important than one-episode characters like Lois, but it seems weird to have text about Shreela (mentioned once? twice?) and nothing about Gordon (who is perhaps the only recurring character not currently listed). 207.181.208.29 (talk) 00:45, 6 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Analysis section

[edit]

I don't think it's appropriate for this article to feature analysis, as this is against Wikipedia's Original Research policy. 89.242.172.88 (talk) 01:07, 12 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

No episodes

[edit]

TV.com has for some reason removed its Episode guide. Anyone have a list of episodes saved? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 213.50.124.34 (talk) 08:58, 31 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Unfortunately, I missed one or two episodes so I'm not sure that my information is 100% correct in all cases (though I have endeavoured to make it so). I would be grateful if anyone could point out (or make) any corrections or additions. --Smallbone10 18:31, 30 Sep 2004 (UTC)

Nice quote

[edit]

The writer appeared on BBC Breakfast (alongside Polly Toynbee on October 26 2005.

Natasha Kaplinsky - do you feel your show has influenced the debate (on smoking bans) in any way?
Brian Dooley (writer) - no probably not, it gets such small viewing figures!
Kaplinsky - don't say that!

Trivia

[edit]

Is it really worthwhile saying the show has no laughter track? It's not the only sitcom which doesn't. 82.19.30.111 23:36, 13 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

No, not really. And it's also not worth repeating that the smoking ban would kill the program if it hadn't already ended, especially not in a sentence almost entirely lacking capital letters. I'll wipe both parts and if anyone's pissy enough they can probably revert it in three minutes.88.66.11.231 20:49, 4 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ben Okinawe

[edit]

Who is Ben Okinawe, and why should Ben (from the Post Room) be confused with him? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 194.66.226.95 (talk) 12:08, 18 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Ben Okinawe is mentioned in episode 3. Robin is talking about Ben, trying to get his point across that he thinks Ben (from the Post Room) is gay. He hesitates over the word "gay" and Lillian wonders if he means he's gay. Robin says, "No, of course he's not gay! Anyone can see he's not gay!" to which Lillian replies, "Ben Okinawe?" No - when Robin says 'anyone can see he's...' Lilian replies 'What, black?', which is how it's revealed she means Ben Okinawe. Smurfmeister (talk) 16:11, 7 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
