Nu Metal?
[edit]Can this album really be considered nu metal? I don't notice any nu metal sounds in the album except for hip-hop scratching sounds in "I Hate Everything About You". User:Danielcool123 -- 16:58, 1 January, 2019 (GMT)
- Your argument is with Andrew Blackie, who wrote the review, which is now archived at https://web.archive.org/web/20170828233811/http://fasterlouder.junkee.com/one-x-three-days-grace/778732. Looking at the review, it's not really a good source. What do you think? Walter Görlitz (talk) 20:28, 1 January 2019 (UTC)
- I agree. It isn't a very reliable source, considering the fact that Blackie is talking about his negative review on One-X and comparing it to Self-Titled. He mentions that I Hate Everything About You, a song from Self-Titled, is a nu metal song. His claim of it being a nu metal song IS valid, because if you were to listen to the song really carefully, record scratching can be heard during both verses. Nu metal is basically average metal, with hip hop sounds. If the song contained rap vocals but no hip hop sounds, it would be considered as just "rap metal" or "rap rock". If there was rapping AND hip hop sounds, it would have both "rap metal/rock" and "nu metal". But considering that in the song, there is just record scratching, but no rapping, it's just "nu metal". While Blackie's claim of the song being nu metal is true, I don't really think that the WHOLE album should be considered as such, when only ONE song off the album has the description of nu metal.
