Welcome!
Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and vote pages using three tildes, like this: ~~~. Four tildes (~~~~) produces your name and the current date. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my Talk page. Please stop adding nonsense to Wikipedia. It is considered vandalism. If you want to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. Elf-friend 22:32, 12 Nov 2004 (UTC)
I second that. Still, you do get points for imagination. How about working on cleaning up some existing TV articles? Those about real shows, that is. :^) You've taken the time to register, so make the best use of that time. - Lucky 6.9 22:42, 12 Nov 2004 (UTC)
Hi, Ryan. You can't have articles listed as "for your area", whatever that means. Why don't you write some articles on real TV shows? RickK 00:35, Nov 13, 2004 (UTC)
Hi, again. FWIW, adding nonsense articles, reverting notices on same and then voting to keep them on the "Votes for Deletion" page is a sure way to get you blocked and banned as a troll and vandal, perhaps for good. I urge you to reconsider your behavior. - Lucky 6.9 01:15, 13 Nov 2004 (UTC)
Wikipedia articles
[edit]FYI when creating Wikipedia articles, please do not reveal yourself as the narrator. Wikipedia articles are not supposed to include text specifying a narrator. 66.245.117.18 01:46, 13 Nov 2004 (UTC)
Days of Our Lives theme
[edit]I've removed the Days theme from the page, because the copyright to the theme song belongs with Boyce/Hart/Albertine, and is therefore not permissible under a fair use doctrine. Mike H 00:34, Nov 14, 2004 (UTC)
Destiny Deoxys
[edit]I've been defending you on VfD, countering statements that you are intentionally contributing unverifiable info to Wikipedia, stating I find your edits to seem to generally be in good faith, and have been unusually tolerant of the presence of the "Destiny Deoxys" article, as Wikipedia is not a fortune-teller, and IMDb has no info on the movie, making the article unlikely to survive on VfD if I put it there. You're making me reconsider those choices. And FWIW, posting unsigned personal attacks on people's Talk pages is a much more actionable violation than editing an article to reflect the more commonly used name: "Destiny Deoxys" tory gets 12 hits, "Destiny Deoxys" tooi gets 281. Proof?
[edit]Could you provide some evidence to support the existence of the TV shows currently on Votes for deletion? [[User:MacGyverMagic|Mgm|(talk)]] 22:02, Nov 15, 2004 (UTC)
Ryan, you're an eyelash away from being permanently banned for submitting nonsense articles. Please stop. - Lucky 6.9 17:41, 22 Nov 2004 (UTC)
- Thanks for getting back to me. I appreciate your honesty and I believe everyone else here does too. I look forward to some real work from you, mister. :^) Best, Lucky 6.9 02:30, 24 Nov 2004 (UTC)
Ryan, why are you trying to get another User's User page deleted? I've deleted the vfd header you added, and will be deleting your listing on the VfD page. RickK 23:31, Jan 11, 2005 (UTC)
- Funny. :^) - Lucky 6.9 01:23, 12 Jan 2005 (UTC)

Television Substubs
[edit]At Columbia Pictures Television and Columbia TriStar Television it seems as if you created substubs. This is not recommended; it is strongly advised against by Wikipedia:Substub and numerous other pages. Could you please explain why you split into substubs instead of leaving them inside the article for the parent company (where they definitely did not take up too much extra space)? [edit]Hi Ryan! Got that screenshot from Google Video's archive of the "Elmo's World: Happy Holidays" special. It has Kelly Ripa as a postie, and a nativity play with the Sesame Muppets. It's actually quite good for a Elmo's World segment. -- user:zanimum
About Your Edits in the Article: Mew and the Wave Guiding Hero: Lucario
[edit]It has come to my attention that you have been adding highly speculative and sometimes made-up information about the U.S. release of the abovementioned movie. I need to stress that Wikipedia focuses on accuracy of information, and is not a place for made-up information (more formally, original research) and speculation. The information you have been trying to add to the article has not been confrimed by any other source other than a source named "Movie Tome". The page summaries you included when you edit the article implies that there is a general consensus on Wikipedia to back that single source of information; generally, Wikipedia do not back a single source of information, relying on multiple (reliable) sources of information instead. Your attitude in editing the article has been one of childish and self-centered, completely ignoring differing opinions and numourous, repeated reverts to the article, instead contorting the article to your own preferences and personal tastes.
I must warn you, your actions can be referred to a higher Wikipedia authority (sysop or admin), and you can be banned from editing Wikipedia articles for an amount of time. Wikipedia is not the place for original research. Unless you can use a reliable source and/or multiple sources to back your claims, and that the information you are trying to add is generally accepted within and outside Wikipedia, I urge you to cease your actions immediately. [edit]I notice that you have several user subpages that are unrelated to Wikipedia. Please see Wikipedia:User page for guidelines on user pages:

Fair-use image removed from your user page
[edit]Hello, Ryanasaurus007. I've removed Image:Daysofourliveslogo.jpg from User:Ryanasaurus007/Images, as it is a copyrighted image that is being used under a claim of fair use. Unfortunately, by Wikipedia policies, no fair-use images can be used on user pages; please see Wikipedia:Removal of fair use images. This image has not been deleted from any articles. Orphaned fair use image (Image:Pbs id84.jpg)
[edit]This file may be deleted. |
Thanks for uploading Image:Pbs id84.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that the image can be used under a fair use license. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BigDT 17:18, 23 August 2006 (UTC)
The copyright tag {{video tape cover}} is strictly for the designed cardboard cover of the cassette; for a picture you've taken of the cassette itself, that doesn't fall under any specific licensing except for those you personally wish to impose upon it. Which is to say, the copyrights of this image belongs to you; if you're not particular about it, you may license it under either a {{GFDL-self}}, {{cc-by-sa-2.5}}, or simply {{PD-self}} and simply release your rights to it and allow its use w/o any copyright restrictions. — pd_THOR | =/\= | 13:43, 10 January 2007 (UTC)

You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

About Pocahontas...
[edit](a la Sherlock Holmes) It's elementary, my dear Ryanasaurus007! I figured out on how Pocahontas had the Classics logo, instead of the Masterpiece logo on 1 of its prints. Consider the fact that Aladdin was released in the Classics series with the Classics logo, while The Lion King was released in the Masterpiece Collection, but didn't have any logo after the FP logo. So, it looks like Pocahontas was intended to be a Classic release, but since they were starting the Masterpiece Collection in 1994, they were to lazy to remove the Masterpiece labels, they just sold it that way, anyway. It was an urgent repackedging. Skymac207 11:45, 27 February 2007 (UTC)

Who cares what he thinks, nobody likes him, anyway! The point is, I remember how much Ryan here was so interested in knowing about Pocahontas with the classics logo, I gave him a new thory finding out how that happened. Skymac207 16:54, 27 February 2007 (UTC)

Non-free use disputed for Image:Pbs id2000b.jpg
[edit]This file may be deleted. |
Thanks for uploading Image:Pbs id2000b.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read carefully the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content and then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 06:54, 6 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit]Do not write in the first person in articles. You might be "against" companies or "amused" by something; an encyclopedia article never is, and it is dishonest and inappropriate to add text claiming otherwise. Unspecified source for Image:Old u.gif
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Old u.gif. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.
As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 22:52, 13 June 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Infrogmation 22:52, 13 June 2007 (UTC)

However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 12:03, 15 May 2008 (UTC)
Another IP sock of Jevon Tompkins?!
[edit]Per edits to Carolco Pictures that either you or myself have had to revert, I've tagged User:75.110.94.247 as an IP sock of User:Jevon Tompkins... Ranma9617 (talk) 03:33, 5 June 2008 (UTC)

Speedy deletion of Nobody's Real
[edit]A tag has been placed on Nobody's Real requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a musical recording which does not indicate why its subject is important or significant, and where the artist's article has never existed, has been deleted or is eligible for deletion itself. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for music.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Riotrocket8676 You gotta problem with that? 16:54, 1 March 2009 (UTC)
- That's no longer true; like whoever removed the speedy deletion tag from the article said, it didn't qualify. I agree with him 100%. --Ryanasaurus007 (talk) 18:34, 15 March 2009 (UTC)
Shadow Tale
[edit]Shadow Tale is currently meeting the criteria for speedy deletion for being about web content and not asserting why it's notable. I decided to hold off on tagging it since you are an established editor, but I suggest you address this ASAP. Gigs (talk) 00:00, 4 June 2009 (UTC)

Diabolus in Musica genre
[edit]After seeing your edit summary, I should said that PopMatters' Adrien Begrand don't stated "Diabolus in Musica is a nu-metal album."
1998's Diabolus in Musica is a unique record, as Slayer adopts many of the characteristics of the burgeoning nu-metal scene (tuned down guitars, murky chord structures, churning beats), and incorporating it with their trademark sound.
You've been inattentive to re-use a source that is already being used in this article, and that its use has been interpreted correctly, knowing that Begrand said, "Slayer adopts many of the characteristics of the burgeoning nu-metal scene (not the style) [...] incorporating it with their trademark sound." You should read Wikipedia guidelines to improve your editing style, before make controversial changes like that.--Cannibaloki 05:20, 13 November 2009 (UTC)

[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute to the encyclopedia, but when you add content (particularly if you change facts and figures), as you have to the article Haunting the Chapel, please cite a reliable source for the content you're adding or changing. This helps maintain our policy of verifiability. Take a look at Wikipedia:Citing sources for information about how to cite sources and the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Unreferenced BLPs
[edit]Hello Ryanasaurus007! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 3 of the articles that you created are tagged as Unreferenced Biographies of Living Persons. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring these articles up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 709 article backlog. Once the articles are adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the list:
- Luis Daniel Ramírez - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs) · FENS · JSTOR · TWL
- Toni Chandler - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs) · FENS · JSTOR · TWL
- Nicole Lamar - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs) · FENS · JSTOR · TWL

[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but your recent edit removed content from List of RealD films. When removing text, please specify a reason in the edit summary and discuss edits that are likely to be controversial on the article's talk page. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the text has been restored, as you can see from the page history. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia, and if you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. Please provide a valid edit summary FinalRapture - † ☪ 00:46, 6 June 2010 (UTC)
- Sorry about that. I just got the text in my reason (which happens to be undoing vandalism) from this site. I didn't know I may be one of the very few Wikipedians to have heard of the Gannon-banned meme (the one mentioned on the site). Next time vandals strike the page, I'm going to be more clear (though I'm still going to include a reference to Gannon-banned as their hypothetical penalty for bad grammar if bad grammar shows up in their edits--how about I add a URL to show them what I'm talking about?). --Ryanasaurus007 (talk) 00:57, 6 June 2010 (UTC)
- I redid my reversion properly this time and made it perfectly clear that I was talking to the anon that posted the vandalism originally. --Ryanasaurus007 (talk) 00:57, 6 June 2010 (UTC)
- That's not very civil, and for those who still don't understand it can put off to them that you are an administrator of Wikipedia. I fail to see what part of your revision is vanldalism, can you please elaborate on that. FinalRapture - † ☪ 00:59, 6 June 2010 (UTC)
- The vandalism in question was the addition of titles that obviously were unsourced to the List of RealD films. That's the vandalism I was trying to delete. Next time I'll put a less, um, administrative note on my reversion. --Ryanasaurus007 (talk) 01:23, 6 June 2010 (UTC)

Operation: Find the Toho dub voice actors
[edit]I noticed from a recent (deleted) version of The Mystery of Mamo by you that you intend to find a full cast list for the Toho dub of that film. Do you have a clear idea of where to start? English dubs of foreign films from that time period tend to have zero documentation on their casts and production, and this operation might be achallenge because of that. (PS This better not be a hoax, especially since I am a fan of the Toho dub, and I also fully remember the incident involving Peter Fernandez and Co. being credited for working on a dub that they had no involvement in.) PatTheMoron (talk) 12:17, 16 December 2014 (UTC)
- Either The Dagger of Kamui, which I have on VHS, or Puss in Boots, the latter which I heard may have featured Lupin's voice actor as the voice of Perro. I'll listen to other Frontier Enterprises dubs from there. --Ryanasaurus007 (talk) 12:20, 16 December 2014 (UTC)
GATHER 'ROUND, FRIENDS! I believe that I've found the voice of Mamo/Mamaux from the Toho dub. His name is Mike Worman, and I found his voice from a clip of Arcadia of my Youth: http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=qlz5LrRS0gY http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/anime.php?id=507 Take a look around ANN where there are credits for Worman, William Ross and Greg Starr for specific titles. I hope this'll put us in the right direction! PatTheMoron (talk) 15:57, 16 December 2014 (UTC)
- Hmm? Isn't that first link to a James Garner tribute clip? No disrespect to the dead intended. --Ryanasaurus007 (talk) 15:18, 16 December 2014 (UTC)
Whoops! Here's the actual clip: http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=WlVIqGFgIiQ PatTheMoron (talk) 15:57, 16 December 2014 (UTC)
- Anyway, I have to go to a movie at the RPX shortly. I'll analyze the clip and compare it to Mamaux's voice when I get back, which I estimate will be just after 3:00 PM my time. --Ryanasaurus007 (talk) 16:10, 16 December 2014 (UTC)
- Upon analysis of the clip, it's pretty much certain to me that Mike Worman voiced Mamaux. And out of all the women Ross employed as voiceover artists, Carrie Sakai definitely wasn't the one who voiced Margot. --Ryanasaurus007 (talk) 06:05, 17 December 2014 (UTC)
I may have found the voice of Margo from this clip of the film Swan Lake. The actress' name is Patricia Kobayashi. http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=iLdzDySdN_I PatTheMoron (talk) 11:57, 17 December 2014 (UTC)
- What would be the best comparison point from Mamo when listening to Kobayashi's performance as Odile? --Ryanasaurus007 (talk) 12:25, 17 December 2014 (UTC)
Any scene with Margo should do, but good scenes to use would probably be when she asks Mamaux to reveil himself, and/or after he shows her the butterflies he revived for her. PatTheMoron (talk) 12:58, 17 December 2014 (UTC)
Have you listened to the clip yet? PatTheMoron (talk) 06:18, 18 December 2014 (UTC)
- Haven't had much time this past day. Maybe tomorrow... but in any case, I'll see if I can recognize any other Mamo voices in that clip as well. --Ryanasaurus007 (talk) 07:24, 18 December 2014 (UTC)
- I finally got the chance, and Odile and Margo sound remarkably similar to each other. But I don't think I recognized Rothbart's voice. Then again, if he appeared in Mamo, Joseph Zucatti probably disguised his voice. --Ryanasaurus007 (talk) 02:29, 19 December 2014 (UTC)
Compared to the voice actresses you mentioned from Kamui, is Kobayashi closer to Margo's voice? PatTheMoron (talk) 09:02, 19 December 2014 (UTC)
- 'Twould seem so, yes. --Ryanasaurus007 (talk) 10:11, 19 December 2014 (UTC)
Sorry Ryan, I won't be around to help you over the next three weeks or so - I'm going on a school-related overseas trip and probably will be spending that time away from Wikipedia and the internet in general. PatTheMoron (talk) 11:27, 27 December 2014 (UTC)
