Old talk

Should be deleted in favour of 'Nikolai Krestinsky', with the name spelt correctly.

This comment was left on the talk page of Nikolia Krestinsky by an anon who then did a cut-and-paste move to the present title. I fixed the move by merging the edit histories at this title. Andris 02:38, Sep 28, 2004 (UTC)

Reasons for renewed canting

(If withdrawing a recantation of one's confession is a "cant" or a "cantation").

As long ago as 2010 some anonymous person removed the obvious observation that he was very likely given a good going-over by the NKVD after his misbehaviour in the witness box. Most books state this to be the case.

I think I read once that he was nursing an obviously dislocated arm during his second spell in the witness box, suggesting that some version of the strappado had been used.
