borderline patent nonsense, though it does seem to be true [1], it is a joke or sthg. Dunc_Harris|☺ 11:32, 5 Aug 2004 (UTC)
Delete:Non-notable. The best this could aspire to is Wikisource, and this doesn't rise to that level with an elevator ride. Geogre 12:45, 5 Aug 2004 (UTC)- Keep: Rewritten, it explains what it is and gives context. Nicely done, anonymous author. Geogre 00:17, 11 Aug 2004 (UTC)
- As it is, it is not good. It does seem to be really well-known. Perhaps it could be merged with Sheffield United F.C., since that's where it's gained its...uh...fame. Did you know you could download it as a ringtone??? Joyous 14:12, Aug 5, 2004 (UTC)
- Possibly merge with a page on football chants, if one exists. Darksun 15:04, 5 Aug 2004 (UTC)
- Keep in present form. [[User:Dpbsmith|Dpbsmith (talk)]] 01:11, 14 Aug 2004 (UTC)
Put on cleanup? If it's well-known—and "Greasy Chip Butty" in quotes gets 6930 Google hits—it could be a decent short article if someone would explain what the heck it is and what the cultural context is. Also what a "greasy chip butty" is, please. I have frequently sought explanations of old catchphrases and wished that encyclopedias included them. In its present form, though, could it be a copyvio? [[User:Dpbsmith|Dpbsmith (talk)]] 00:53, 6 Aug 2004 (UTC) - Delete - not an article, possible copyvio as well. -- Cyrius|✎ 20:17, 6 Aug 2004 (UTC)
- I can see no real reason to delete this page other than bloated opinionism and condecending arrogance. This may well be of value to someone other than yourself.

- I have added some more info to the page and would be happy to expand on what is there. As someone who grew up in Sheffield the words are probably quite a commentary on Sheffield culture.
